Reports to: Head of New Sales
Job Purpose:
The Bid Writer will be responsible for producing high-quality bids and proposals for various sectors, including public sector, higher education, and private sector opportunities. The candidate must possess expert knowledge in bid writing, be proficient in using portals and general bid platforms, and be familiar with Loopio software. Experience or knowledge of the water treatment and Legionella industries, while not essential, would be advantageous. In addition, the role includes creating, maintaining, and updating the company’s bid library and bid collateral to streamline the bid process. The role involves collaboration with various departments to deliver compelling and winning bids, ensuring adherence to deadlines and client requirements.

Essential Skills & Experience:
• Bid Writing Expertise: Proven experience in bid writing across a range of sectors, including public and private sectors.• Portal Knowledge: Proficient in using and managing various bid portals such as Delta, ProContract, In-tend, MyTenders, etc.• AI Software Familiarity: Experience using Loopio or similar AI tools for bid writing, analysis, and optimization.• Sector Knowledge: Strong understanding of public sector procurement, including universities and higher education institutions.• Attention to Detail: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.• Organizational Skills: Strong time-management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.• Collaboration: Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.• Research Skills: Strong research skills for identifying and analyzing bid opportunities and client needs.• Content Management: Experience in creating, maintaining, and organizing a bid library, with strong knowledge of document management systems or similar tools.
Desirable:
• Experience with large, multi-disciplinary bids.• Knowledge of the water treatment and Legionella compliance industries.• Familiarity with contract law and terms related to public sector contracts.• Knowledge of bid frameworks and government contract standards.• Experience in using CRM systems and managing bid pipelines.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, English, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).• APMP Foundation or Practitioner certification (desirable but not essential).
Working Conditions:
Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for remote or hybrid working.
May involve occasional travel to attend client meetings or bid presentations.
